I might be going to Negril with my older sister (17 yrs. old) and my mom this summer since we found a vacation package for a good price. My mom was a bit concerned about safety. I looked at similar questions on Yahoo! Answers but they were all older than a year. We’re looking for some current information on how safe it would be for three females to travel to Negril and stay at a hotel (NOT all-inclusive) and go about the city alone. I know in Mexico people say watch out for the street food and if you do eat it avoid pork. Was wondering if the street food is safe in Negril and if there’s anything I should avoid?

Planning a honeymoon in late July. Jamaica seems like the perfect place, and Negril seems to be the quietest, nicest place on the island. Is this true? Also interested in the pros/cons of all-inclusive. Probably leaning toward a non-all-inclusive – is there a good website to find those?
